My connection to technology
From Digital Curiosity to Data Science: My Journey
The Spark of Curiosity
The Early Years: As a four-year-old, my fascination with computers began. I was always the one with cool stories to share with friends about the latest technological breakthroughs and how they could revolutionize productivity. Pushing computers to their limits, I reveled in exploring what they were capable of and the exciting directions they were evolving towards. This wasn’t just a hobby; it was the beginning of a journey in understanding and attempts to harness the immense potential of technology.
Academic Foundations
Venturing into academia: I pursued a BSc in Economics and Business Economics, seeking to blend my technological interests with a robust economic understanding. This journey was deeply influenced by my father's background in business and strategy, providing a unique perspective on how technology intersects with the corporate world. It was here that I discovered the profound impact of data on business success and decision-making. This revelation led me to further my academic journey with a MSc in Business Information Management. Here, my passion for data was not only nurtured but also shared with like-minded individuals, further solidifying my resolve to master this domain.
A Deeper Dive into Data & Artificial Intelligence
Master Thesis and Beyond: The pinnacle of my academic journey was the nomination for the Master Thesis Awards for my research on the interplay between human creativity and adversarial neural networks. This recognition wasn’t just an academic accolade; it was a testament to my belief in the transformative power of algorithms in enhancing human creativity.
My thesis, titled "Talk to the AI: The Next Frontier in Work Performance: A Case Study. Investigating the Impact of Conversational Generative AI on Creative Process", delves into how conversational generative AI, particularly the large language model chatGPT, influences the creative process. This work builds upon foundational theories in creativity and integrates them with modern AI applications, creating a new conceptual model for understanding and enhancing creativity in various professional contexts. Through qualitative research involving interviews with experts in academia and industry, the thesis offers a comprehensive view of cGAI's impact on divergent thinking, context awareness, and real-time support. The findings, derived from case studies in both scholarly and economic sectors, highlight cGAI's potential and areas for improvement, providing cross-disciplinary managerial recommendations and paving the way for future AI advancements.
